Like those pictures, Huey’s are elegant, seemingly straightforward studies of pottery and glassware displayed on shelves, domestic inventories full of clues about taste, wealth, and class. But these pictures have a very peculiar palette – at once washed out and heightened, the result of reversing the color values of the image.
